DONNA WOOD b. 1973 Newark, New Jersey
Donna started drawing as a child. She spent long hours with her father-a painter, drawing together in silence. This experience instilled a lifelong love of art. She has studied photography with Jerome Leibling and filmmaking. In 2004 Donna fell in love with sculpture. As a martial artist, dancer and movement teacher she draws on her rich movement background and expresses it through sculpture. Donna is inspired by the scale and wonder of nature. She is enamored with the world and traveling through it. She is deeply influenced by travel and considers it a practice of seeing the world through different eyes. Donna has lived in Mexico City and Rio de Janeiro, her home is now in San Diego.
