As a student of Sociology, anthropology and the visual arts, Kaplan is captivated by the sights and people of his every day life in Southern California.  What some see as objects and faces he sees as colors and emotions.  He takes these images and incorporates them into his mixed media paintings. Working primarily with acrylic, ink and spray paint, he continues to explore a multitude of human and societal emotions through his expressionistic style of painting. In 2019, Arredon Art supported a variety of non-profit organization, including Latin American Art Fair, Thrive Animal Rescue, Vanguard Culture and Las Patronas.  The gallery also provided individual mentorships to students in business and art. [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Biography Born in the United States, 1975 Education Bachelor of Arts, Sociology from the University of California, San Diego Masters of Arts in Teaching Social Science from University of San Diego History Paul Kaplan grew up being influenced by the diversity of experiences and people in southern California. Whether it was drawing, painting, sports, surfing or traveling each experience helped shaped his personal narrative. He studied sociology, anthropology and visual arts at the University of California at San Diego under internationally renowned professors including Eleanor Antin, Kim MacConnel, Faith Ringgold, Italo Scanga and Roman De Salvo.  Kaplan’s education and training has helped him develop a style that infuses traditional methods with intense and vivid colors, exaggeration in the appearance with loose light brushstrokes. [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Biography Born in Guatemala, 1964 Education Graduate architect, University of San Carlos de Guatemala Cinematographic studies, Chilean Film Institute History Mendel Samayoa and his family discovered his artistic skills at a very young age.  His dad was a cartoonist and although Samayoa was encouraged to pursue his passion, he was required to obtain a formal education in a more practical field.  He continued architecture degree for many years while he organized his own artwork exhibits throughout Guatemala. Eventually, he moved to Chile to pursue his artistic career full-time as a filmmaker and visual artist.  During his extended time in Chile, Mendel explored new visual expressions and started experimenting with acrylic, oil and ink.
