Solo Exhibition by Asa Kvissberg..

Connecting/Disconnecting: The Impact of Social Media

La Jolla, CA, November, 2016 – Monarch | Arredon Contemporary is pleased to present Connecting/Disconnecting: The Impact of Social Media by Swedish born artist ASA KVISSBERG.  This solo exhibition will feature over twenty large and small scale pieces on a variety of media and will open with a reception on December 3rd 2016 from 4-7pm at Monarch | Arredon Contemporary located at 7629 Girard Ave, Suite C2, La Jolla, CA 92037.

With her latest body of work Åsa Kvissberg wants to provoke questions that inspire and invite thought rather than make definite statements. With the push and pull of social media starting to run our lives, are we becoming more connected to each other or are we in fact becoming disconnected?  Is never leaving our phones out of sight and having them always available bringing us closer to our friends? Is trying to be perfect for our selfies and displaying our perfect lives on Facebook and Instagram making our lives fuller? Or is it just making it seem like we are living fuller lives?
